Amunta is the free personal finance ledger. Amunta+ is the paid edition: it includes everything in Amunta and adds multiple funds.
The deciding question is simple: is it enough to know how much money you have, or do you also need to know where that money is kept?
What does free Amunta include?
Everything except multiple funds, with no count limit:
- Income and expense tracking.
- Debts and partial repayments.
- Cash and pay-later invoices.
- Budgets, reports, and installment plans.
- A-Link sharing and optional Google Drive backup.
There is no maximum number of transactions or people and no feature hidden behind a usage counter. Core features work without an account and without an internet connection.
What does Amunta+ add?
Multiple funds. A fund represents where money is kept: cash, a wallet, or a bank account.
Amunta+ creates the cash fund automatically. It is the default destination for money that has no selected fund, so it cannot be deleted or renamed. You create the other funds yourself. They begin with a zero balance and can be deleted while they have no recorded transactions.
On the home screen, the first card shows your total balance. The following cards show each fund separately.
Transfers between funds. Moving money from one fund to another is neither income nor an expense. The source balance falls, the destination balance rises, and your total remains unchanged. Transfers stay separate from income and expense reports and do not affect budgets.
Payment fees. When you pay from a wallet or bank account, you can record a transaction fee. Amunta+ deducts it from the source fund and your total balance while keeping it separate from the main amount.
A practical example
You have 5,000 in cash and 20,000 in the bank: 25,000 in total. You transfer 2,000 from the bank to a wallet and pay a fee of 50:
- Bank: 17,950
- Wallet: 2,000
- Cash: 5,000
- Total: 24,950
The 2,000 is not recorded as an expense because the money only moved between your own funds. The fee of 50 is the only amount that left your total.
Which edition suits you?
Choose Amunta if you mainly use one source of money and a single total balance is enough.
Choose Amunta+ if you divide money between cash, wallets, and bank accounts and want the app to reflect that distribution.
Is Amunta+ a cloud service?
No. Funds are stored on your device like the rest of your data, and both editions use the same privacy model. A-Link and Google Drive backup are optional in free Amunta too; neither edition needs the internet for core use.
Restore note: if you restore an Amunta+ backup in free Amunta, the transactions are restored, but their distribution across funds and the transfers between funds are not.
